Values Reflection Sharing Team Building Activity

Purpose:

Deepen understanding of team members’ core values and what motivates them.

Setup:

Circle of chairs all facing inward. No more than 15 participants.
Phones off, no interruptions.

Ground Rules:

  • One person shares a core value or belief that guides their work.
  • Others listen quietly; no interruptions or comments.
  • Keep responses brief to ensure everyone can share.

Facilitation Tips:

  • Treat everyone with respect and kindness.
  • Don’t force anyone to participate.
  • Thank each speaker.
  • Remind the group of the ground rules if needed.

Giving Everyone a Chance to Share:

  • Ask, “Has everyone had a chance to share?”
  • Leave space for anyone who wishes to share to speak up and, if they don’t, invite them to participate next time.

Concluding the Session:

  • Thank everyone.
  • Ask, “How does understanding each other’s values impact our teamwork?” Invite participants to share briefly.
  • Conclude by saying you appreciate everyone’s participation.
